Forecast Discussion: December 8 to December 14 – A high pressure ridge currently exists over the west coast of the United States. Weather will remain sunny and dry and will continue to be warm during the day into the middle of the coming week. Nights will remain cold and clear during this time. This has the potential to set up an inversion which may result in higher wood smoke concentrations to susceptible areas in the San Lorenzo Valley. The AQI for most monitors within the district are predicted to remain in the GOOD category for PM2.5, while some areas of the San Lorenzo Valley may reach Moderate to USG. Smoke from the fires down south has been passing over the area and the PM2.5 AQI in other areas of the District may also increase to Moderate or higher if it settles down in our area.
